Psychopharmacological Agents Associated with Sexual Dysfunction

Pages 43-45 | Published online: 22 Jan 2015

Abstract

An assessment of patient appropriateness for behaviorally-oriented sex therapy by necessity includes an assessment as to whether the presenting sexual difficulty is a pharmacological side effect. Numerous commonly prescribed psychiatric drugs have been reported to be associated with retarded ejaculation, erectile incapacity, and female anorgasmia. This information is reviewed as it is of potential extreme usefulness to practicing sexual therapists.
