Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of a focus on diversity issues in a Foundations of Education class. The treatment included a variety of instructional strategies designed to address issues of intolerance and to promote understanding of the importance of multicultural education for teachers. Upon completion of the course, students were asked to determine the impact of the course on their views and to specify which strategies had the most impact. The findings of this study provide data which are useful to those wishing to strengthen the integration of diversity issues within their classes.
