Extension of the Hybrid Steepest Descent Method to a Class of Variational Inequalities and Fixed Point Problems with Nonself-Mappings

Pages 820-834 | Published online: 17 Sep 2008

Abstract

In this paper, we discuss the strong convergence of the hybrid steepest descent method relative to the case when the involved operators belong to a wide class of possibly nonself-mappings. Our convergence results cover previous ones, and the techniques of analysis used are simple and can be adapted to many other fixed point methods.
