Mites and ticks associated with some small mammals in mexico

Abstract

This paper reports mites and ticks of small mammals in the states of Baja California Sur, Chiapas, Jalisco, Michoacán, Oaxaca, Puebla, San Luis Potosí and Veracruz in México. Genera of small mammals sampled were: Balantiopteris, Chaetodipus, Cryptotis, Habromys, Heteromys, Liomys, Marmosa, Megadontomys, Microtus, Nyctomys, Oryzomys, Osgoodomys, Peromyscus, Reithrodontomys, Sigmodon and Sorex. The recorded mites belonged to 15 families but Glycyphagidae, Laelapidae, Listrophoridae and Trombiculidae included most species.
