Abstract
A mesostigmatid mite, Suracarus inusitatus n. gen., n. sp. (Acari: Laelapidae), under a new subfamily Suracarinae n. subfam., is described from the nest of a stingless bee, Trigona albipennis Almeida, 1992, from Brazil.
