Abstract
Mites of the genus Hoploseius Berlese have been found associated with fungi and have phoretic associations with some fungal insects. The female and male of Hoploseius bispinosetus n. sp. collected from wood fungi and decomposing wood in north of Iran are described and illustrated. This new species is easily distinguished from the other species in the genus Hoploseius by its enlarged and spine-like I 4 dorsal setae.
