Abstract

Examination of a large collection of unsorted soil extractions from several soil zoological expeditions in Bulgaria revealed two new species of Prozercon. Prozercon bulgariensis sp. nov. shows morphological relationship to an Iranian species, Prozercon dominiaki Błaszak, 1979, and seems to be widespread in Rila and Balkan mountains. Prozercon similiformis sp. nov. is morphologically related to a Carpathian species, Prozercon similis Balan, 1992, and inhabits the western parts of Bulgaria.
