ABSTRACT

The genera Microdispus Paoli, 1911 and Scutodispus Mahunka and Mahunka-Papp, 1994 are redefined. Their type species, M. obovatus (Paoli, 1911) and S. meszarosi Mahunka and Mahunka-Papp, 1994, are redescribed. Three new genera, Pseudomicrodispus gen. nov. with type species Diversipes (Microdispus) setosus Evans, 1952, Rhombomicrodispus gen. nov. with type species Microdispus equisetosus Mahunka, 1970 and Promicrodispus gen. nov. with type species Brennandania pumilis Sevastianov, 1975, are described and their type species are redescribed. Microdispus hastatus Mahunka, 1981 and M. montanus Khaustov and Minor, 2016 are placed into the genus Pseudomicrodispus gen. nov. Some generic-level characters of Microdispidae are discussed.
