Abstract

Kurosapolipus n. gen. (Acari: Podapolipidae) is described for mites occurring on Macropophora trochlearis and M accentifer from Peru, Brazil and Argentina. New species are K. camerikae (type species for the genus), K. martinsi and K. feldmanmuhsamae. Kurosapolipus brasilensis, new combination, is included. A new genus, Orthapolipus, includes O. nicsarae (type species for the genus) and O.blattae, new combinations. A review of 9 genera of mites in which adult females have 4 legs, Tetrapolipus sensu latu, is presented.
