Abstract
The taxonomy of the Neotropical genus Sampsonius Eggers is reviewed. Fourteen species (2 new) are included in the genus. The genus is redescribed, a key to all species is included and each species is redescribed. All available data on distribution is included. New species are: alvarengai (Brazil) and mexicanus (Mexico). Illustrations of most species are included.
