The male of the Neotropical water mite Neotorrenticola plumipes Lundblad, 1953 is described for the first time. The species is compared to the most closely related species N. crassipes Lundblad, 1953 and N. papillota Lundblad, 1953 and several characteristics of the genus Neotorrenticola Lundblad, 1936 are discussed.
