Pages 293-296 | Received 30 Jul 1984, Published online: 22 May 2012

Summary

Whole testes of Acheta domesticus were maintained in vitro for up to 48 h. Development of sperm could not be induced in the penultimate stage testis irrespective of hormone influence. A partial stimulation of spermatogenesis in the ultimate stage testis was achieved using 10−6 M 20-hydroxyecdysone but completion of spermiogenesis was not seen.
