Abstract
This paper presents an examination of the relationship between neurological impairment and learning disabilities (LD). After a brief review of the history of this relationship, alternative explanation will be explored. The main part of the discussion will be devoted to a review of the ‘neurological connection’, including a detailed analysis of neurological data on LD children in a follow-up study into adulthood. Finally, first results of an attempt to relate specific neurological findings in LD children to adult outcome will be presented.
