The role of the arrangement of the microtubules in normal development of endosperm of Haemanthus Katherinae Bak.

Pages 289-293 | Published online: 08 Feb 2017

Summary

Investigations of endosperm cells of Haemanthus Katherinae in vitro and in the EM with the application of a mixture of oleander glycosides lead to the conclusion that a necessary condition for uniform distribution of chromatin in anaphase (and for normal development of endosperm) is a regular arrangement of the microtubules in the mitotic spindle. The kind of microtubules does not seem to play here a major role.
