Pages 121-130 | Published online: 10 Jul 2014

Summary

Almost the totality of the vacuoles of yeast cells can be isolated and highly purified. Among many other substances the vacuoles contain large amounts of arginine bound to polyphosphates. How can the cells mobilize the storage pool of arginine in an environment changing with respect to the nitrogen source?
