“A Long Way Toward What?” Sex, Gender, Feminism, and the Study of Public Administration

Abstract

This article (re)introduces readers to the meanings of terms like sex, gender, and feminism in public administration (PA) scholarship. It asks how far public administration scholarship has come in its understandings of sex, gender, and feminism, offers a typology for published articles in public administration; and asks how far we have come in apprehending the gender of public administration.
