Call For Papers

Call for Papers by IJPA for a Special Issue on Engaging Vulnerable Populations in the Co-Production of Public Services

&

International Journal of Public Administration (IJPA), published by Taylor & Francis (Routledge), is a triple blind-refereed, scholarly publication that presents a forum for academicians and practitioners in diverse areas of public administration and public policy, governance, organization theory and behavior, public management, nonprofit administration, budgeting and finance, economic and social development, strategic studies, globalization, crisis and emergency management, and more.

IJPA is preparing a Special Issue on Engaging Vulnerable Populations in the Co-Production of Public Services broadly defined that will be published in Spring 2020. Manuscripts focused on how to empower and engage populations with vulnerabilities that could otherwise challenge their participation in the co-design or co-production of public services (e.g. health, social services, and beyond) are especially welcomed, and they can be theoretical, analytical, and empirical with sound scholarship. Interested scholars are cordially invited to submit an abstract of no more than 300 words by April 15, 2019. All manuscripts will go through rigorous triple blind-reviews. Fully completed manuscripts of accepted abstracts will be due by August 15, 2019. The Abstracts should indicate authors names for correspondence purposes and clearly and briefly present: (1) a descriptive title; (2) a problem statement; (3) a sound conceptualization with theoretical grounding; (4) a purpose statement; (5) the ‘originality’ and significance of the paper; (6) a brief methodology (sources of data, tools and methods of analysis, etc.); and (7) potential contributions to knowledge.

The completed papers should not exceed 30 pages (double spaced/7000 words), inclusive of all tables, figures, and charts. APA is the style with third-person writing style required, and the Guidelines are provided on the IJPA site. All abstracts and queries should be submitted to the SI Guest Editor (s) of IJPA, Professor (s) Gillian Mulvale at McMaster University ([email protected]), and Glenn Robert at King’s College London ([email protected]). Full papers will be developed after approval of abstracts by the guest editors (notification to authors by June 15, 2019).
