The use of ozonation processes, in water treatment practice, has been reported to result in many beneficial effects. Low ozone partial pressures available from commercial generators make efficient ozone mass transfer into the aqueous phase imperative. This paper presents several mathematical models which can be utilized in lieu of expensive pilot-scale analysis to determine the necessary conditions in order to optimize mass transfer coefficients in ozone contacting systems.
