A Process of Washing and Ozonation to Deodorize an Atmosphere Contaminated by Sulfides

Pages 331-347 | Received 03 Oct 1989, Accepted 17 Apr 1990, Published online: 23 Jul 2008

Abstract

A treatment process of gas polluted by hydrogen sulfide or alkyl sulfide is described in this paper. It includes pollutant absorption by an aqueous solution and a continuous regeneration by an ozone oxidation of absorbed compounds. The effects of the main parameters of the process are discussed (pH, concentrations, flow rate,… ). Results are linked to the theory of mass transfer with chemical reaction.
