ABSTRACT

Older adults with low vision need interventions with their environment that will improve their ability to function safely. The purpose of this article is to discuss the results of a literature review that suggested ways to facilitate an improved environment for older adults with low vision. A second purpose is to discuss the findings of a survey of occupational therapists on their perception of the clinical utility of these items. The participants were 10 occupational therapy practitioners that were surveyed about their perceptions of 17 items used to adapt the environment with older adults who have low vision.
