Abstract
The National Conference on Educational Approaches to Families of the Mentally Ill emphasizes an educational approach, and was designed to discuss the most useful things that mental health providers can offer families in an educational context. It was sponsored by the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, the foremost national advocacy group for the improvement of care for the chronically mentally ill. The special emphasis on identifying educational approaches to families with mentally ill members is explored in the excellent summaries of the major presentations given at the conference by outstanding leaders in this field.
