ON INTEGRATING FAMILY THERAPY: A REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE FROM 1988 TO 1995

Pages 193-212 | Published online: 13 Jun 2007

Abstract

This review of the literature summarizes works on integrating family therapy from 1988 to 1995. An epistemological lens is used to organize issues regarding integration strategy. The subdivisions reflected are theoretical and clinical implementations. Included is a discussion about the confusion caused by diverse epistemological assumptions in many integration attempts. A recommendation to join theory, research, and practice is proposed.
