Abstract

By appointing the ideal mixture system of surfactants as the standard of comparison, synergisms in surface tension reduction efficiency and mixed micelle formation of binary surfactant mixtures in aqueous solution have been defined. Furthermore, based on the regular solution theory and the ideal solution theory, the conditions and the corresponding optimum point values of these two kinds of synergisms have been deduced. The conclusions have reasonably enlarged the scope of synergism theory proposed by Rosen and coworkers.
