The BaFe12O19 nanoparticles with different morphologies including plates, lamella, and rods have been prepared from a facile thermal pyrolysis of citrate precursors obtained from a spray-drying process. The additives and thermal history affect the morphology of BaFe12O19 nanopartilces. The lattice parameter values vary with the particle morphology especially for lattice parameter c, and the value is 23.235, 23.187, and 23.344 Å corresponding to lamella, nanorod, and plate, respectively. The coercivity value of the lamella, nanrod, and plate is 4579, 3115, and 3974 Oe.
