Abstract

In this article, we demonstrate an effective method to disperse multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) homogeneously in aqueous alumina sol through an in situ method. Polyvinylpyrrolidone was used as dispersant agent. The dispersion state of MWCNTs in alumina sol was studied and the dispersion mechanism is discussed. The applicability of this dispersion system for fabricating of MWCNTs/alumina precursor fiber is demonstrated.
