ABSTRACT
In previous papers1,2), the authors proposed equations for the calculation of time-dependent viscosity of lyophobic suspensions. The pertinence of equations proposed was confirmed by many experiments for the unagitated suspensions and for the suspensions agitated at constant rates. In this paper, the equations for the continuous change in the shear rate are proposed, and the calculated curves of hysteresis are compared with those experimentally obtained and classified by Banfill and Saunders3 rpar;.
After confirming the applicability of the equations for the calculation of hysteresis curves, a uniformity of the rheological expression is discussed, and a fundamental equation capable of expressing both Newtonian and non-Newtonian flow types is proposed.
