ABSTRACT

The interactions between sodium indomethacin and chloride salts of four quaternary ammonium compounds were characterized. Investigations involved conductimetric studies at concentration regions wherein ion-pairs exist in equilibrium with the solution of participating ions. Iontophoresis was also utilized to investigate the phenomenon of ion-pairing. Characteristic of large molecules, extremely high levels of ion-pair association constants and low degrees of dissociation were obtained.
