Abstract
This article describes the process of setting up on-line support groups using The Palace, an Internet software that establishes a graphical room for the group. Palace rooms include visual cues about the setting of the group, the identity of participants, and the proximity of members. The authors describe the process of installing the software and illustrate operating it during the group. Considerations for group planning including selection of leader, selections and orientation of members, and recommendations for pregroup training are discussed.
