Pages 149-156 | Published online: 31 Jan 2008

Abstract

This article was a presidential address given at the luncheon of the Association for Specialists in Group Work during the annual meeting of the American Counseling Association in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, April 21, 1996. In an informal presentation style, this presidential address outlines aphorisms (“pithily put presumptuous pronouncements”) that the author has found to be personally valuable in working with groups.
