Abstract
This article describes a support group for Chicana college students. Central to the group's theoretical conceptualization are Yalom's therapeutic factors as they relate to cultural values and the academic persistence of Chicanas in higher education. In particular, cultural valuesof personalismo, respeto, simpatía, dignidad, confianza, and familismo are discussed. Finally, recommendations that integrate cultural values are provided for group facilitators who work with Chicana college students.
