Reviews of Science for Science Librarians: Boning Up on Flores Man

Abstract

In 2003, a team of anthropologists made the shocking discovery of some very unusual skeletal remains at a cave on the island of Flores, Indonesia. The team had discovered a group of tiny bipedal human-like hominins who survived on Flores until very recently, overlapping with modern humans. This new hominin has been dubbed Homo floresiensis, and nicknamed “hobbit” due to its diminutive stature. The purpose of this article is to acquaint readers with our small relatives, review the current state of knowledge about them, and identify the top databases, journals, monographs, and other resources providing coverage of this topic.
