ASPECTS OF COMPUTER LEARNING

Pages 67-86 | Received 01 Apr 1980, Published online: 22 Oct 2007

Abstract

The paper first discusses the objectives and some general problems of computer learning. This is then followed by a detailed description of a series of experiments. Some of the learning programs are based on the results of our observations of human performance. Some others utilize concepts usually associated with self-organization, pattern recognition, self-adaptation, mechanized induction, control theory, and guided learning. The vehicle of these investigations is the game of Poker. A discussion of human cognitive processes and a summary complete the paper.
