Internet Inquiry: Conversations About Method, edited by Annette N. Markham and Nancy K. Baym. Thousand Oaks, CA: Sage, 2008. 264 pp. $50.00 paper. ISBN 978-1412910019 (paper).

Notes

1The editors of the book use a lowercase “i” in “internet” rather than a capital “I”; according to Markham and Baym, capitalizing means that “internet” is a proper noun and implies that it is either a being or a specific place. Both metaphors lead to granting the internet agency and power that are better granted to those who develop and use it (vii). Hence, this review follows the editors’ usage.
