Technological Efficiency in Prehistoric Alt Assemblages from Northwestern France and Southeastern England

Pages 17-20 | Published online: 25 Aug 2016

Abstract

An analysis of flake attributes from five French and five English ALT(Acheulean with Levallois technique) assemblages shows that the French ALT was more standardized, and therefore more efficient than was the English ALT. This is the first of a number of analyses which are designed to explain the differential level of technology between the French and English ALT.
