ABSTRACT
The artefact is a flint flake with a tang, an object that is common in the Aterian Culture (Middle Palaeolithic of the and the Sahara, 40,000 to 20,000 BP). It was discovered during an archaeological survey by Mr. Letan, in the coastal region of Morocco, between Tarfaya and Tan-Tan (south Atlantic Coast). The artefact was lying on the ground in a zone of cliff screes, with no other object of the kind around. The archaeological prospections, which lasted several hours in a restricted area, resulted in no additional discoveries of prehistoric material.
