ABSTRACT
An educational model centred on an approach to solving environmental problems may promote among student teachers the development of cognitive skills and skills that may lead to environmental action. However, the testing of this model has not shown that other skills related to this we of problem resolution have also resulted, specifically, the ability to look critically at their own attitudes and behaviours and the ability to analyse the nature of their interrelations with others. We attribute this to the fact that these skills, which are more introspective, probably require a more complex level of reasoning in order to develop.
