Iterative algorithms for non-orthogonal analysis of variance

Pages 355-370 | Received 01 Dec 1980, Published online: 27 Jun 2007

Abstract

The normal equations for Analysis of Variance possess special properties which are not accounted by standard inversion methods.

The proportion of useful elements in the matrix XX may be very small, so that its storage requires much more computer place than necessary. The proposed iterative method extends to analysis of covarianee and is compared with other ones.
