Abstract

In this paper we discuss different approaches to the estimation of error rates in discriminant analysis. Especially we prove the asymptotic efficiency of an estimator of the bootstrap type and give some numerical results for the comparison of the resubstitution, the jackknife and the asymptotically efficient estimator
