In this note for i.i.d. random variables an equivalent formulation of SPITZER'S identity is given. This new form is generalized to the case of cyclically exchangeable random
variables and proved by elementary probabilistic arguments. SPITZER'S identity itself does not hold for cyclically exchangeable random variables
