Abstract
Subject of this paper are decision situations which can be characterized by a finite set of alternatives from which one good alternative or several satisfactory alternatives have to be chosen by taking into account several criteria.A system of axioms for the description of the decision maker's preferences will be presented, in which only limited compensations between the criteria are allowed. This preference model combines the determination of thresholds and criteria weights and the theory of fuzzy logic. In doing so, both the preference models based on the classicals dominance principle and those of the multiattributive utility theory are extended. Finally, as a generalization of the ELECTRE-I method, a procedure for the determination of decision proposals will be presented and illustrated with its performance in solving a real-world decision Problem.
