Abstract
Humanity and all its activities are not only a product of its environment but are increasingly becoming Its determinants. The environment consists of various components, namely; Physical, chemical, biological, economic and socio-political factors that Impinge upon an individual, population or community. The concept of infinite space and environment which prevailed only a decade ago has been proved to be a myth. Like all other resources of nature, the supply of environmental resource is also limited. Any environmental change can affect human life in many different ways. The atmosphere of air and climate, the hydrosphere of rivers, lakes and oceans, the lithosphere from which rocks have crumbled away over the millenia to give us our thin and fragile envelope of soil—all three are organic life. Without their continuous Interaction, our little biosphere of living things would never have come into being. The interaction of air, soil and water continue to be inescapable, and when any of them are used in a destructive way, the dangerous impact may be reinforced by the very closeness of their association with other systems. Tourism is a notorious user of physical resources of a country. It has been said to have come in direct conflict with natural environment, often threatening ecological balance. We have to take note of environmental planning in our tourism promotional programmes.
