Pages 29-38 | Published online: 11 Nov 2014

Abstract

Outside the ‘golden triangle’ formed by New Delhi-Agra-Jaipur, Banaras, Modern Varanasi has been rather the: most attractive place for visitors, and amongst all places of tourist interest it lags behind only Agra in the whole country, and if we take into consideration the home tourists also. Varanasi would stand out most boldly. It is likely to become in the near future the most important tourist centre in the country provided facilities and improvements in its habitat are enhanced in keeping with the need as also with its ancient tradition and glory. Here an attempt will be made to show its potentials for excellence in preserving its cultural tradition with its philosophical and spiritual attainments which the entire nation may rightly be proud of.
