Abstract
A multi-index transportation problem with mixed type of axial constraints on source availabilities, destination requirements supplying capacities of the agencies and mode-capacities, has been discussed in this paper. Under certain conditions it is shown to be equivalent to a related multi-index problem with axial constraints as equations only. This equivalence has been established through five theorems. A multi-index transportation problem needed to be solved to get a solution of the related problem is given at the end.
