Study on influence of labor management relations on operational performance

Abstract

In the 21st century, competition among companies depends on competition among talents. A successful enterprise not only values capacity performance, but also pays attentions to retaining of employees. The situation is particularly significant in high-tech industry which encounters the pressure of high degree of talent competition. Whether for economic or non-economic welfare, employers make efforts to introduce various new measures to recruit the best talents. More importantly, better employee welfare not only allows employees to have a balance between work and personal life, but also enhances the competitiveness of companies, the Labor Management Relations, and employees' cohesion, thus significantly improving the overall operational performance of the companies. This study found that there is a significant and positive correlation between Labor Management Relations and operational performance, a significant and positive correlation between organizational commitment and operational performance. The correlation between Labor Management Relations and operational performance differs due to organizational commitment. Finally, the correlation between Labor Management Relations and operational performance significantly differs due to “employees' different gender”. Research findings and conclusion will be further discussed. The results of this study can serve as references to Labor Management Relations for companies.
