Alphanumeric Character Graphics on a Strip Chart Recorder

Pages 59-62 | Received 25 Apr 1984, Published online: 02 Jun 2015

Abstract

A software-oriented technique to add alphanumeric graphics capabilities to a ‘dumb’ strip chart recorder is presented. The software described allows the user to record into memory the desired alphanumeric text via a single push button and to plot the stored text automatically assigning spaces between each successive character. The operator can centralise the title of the text, separate out character strings in a given line and terminate line or text.
