Abstract

The technology trend for the Terminal Equipment is to build some intelligence at the terminal for local processing as well as provide communication facilities so that it can be connected to different computer systems using telephone lines or these terminals can be connected themselves either in a Local Area Network or through an Electronic PABX/Public Switched Telephone Network. This way, these terminals will be used more and more for Office Automation and meeting the efficiency in operations involving transaction, processing and information exchange.
