Abstract
The paper describes the evolutionary character of Consumer electronics. It discusses some of the current day developments on the world scene and focusses on such major changes which may influence the future course of the industry.
The paper then looks at the Indian scene, and emphasises the need of building up a competent industrial infrastructure such that it is able to deal with the imperatives of the future business development.
