Abstract
This paper presents a review on Gabor functions and their applications to digital image processing. Various implementation issues of discrete Gabor transform are reviewed. Properties of Gabor filters are discussed. We present an experiment to examine the performance of Gabor filter for image deblurring. The thrust is mainly to create an interest in this field so that more engineers and scientists are attracted to join this area of research.
