Abstract
Remote sensing satellite ground stations are designed with the feed and front end systems broad enough to accommodate the reception of signals anywhere in the assigned spectrum. The data rate of transmission for different satellites being different, corresponding data demodulator and bit synchronizer have to be used for each satellite conventionally for signal reception. This increases the system complexity and cost. A demodulator and bit synchroniser has been developed with multimission capabilities which provides a low cost solution to the problem of receiving multiple high data rate signals at different data rates in QPSK/UQPSK/BPSK schemes. This paper presents various concepts and design considerations of the Demodulator and bit synchronizer for multimission applications.
