Abstract

Ultrasonic nebulizers are commonly being used for aerosol therapy in many chronic and acute respiratory diseases like asthma. The nebulizers based on ultrasonic principle are known for their more uniform and finer size droplet output than those obtainable from other conventional nebulizers. The use of ultrasonic nebulizers for medicinal applications in the country is restricted probably because these are more expensive, being an imported item. An attempt has therefore been made to indigenously develop an ultrasonic nebulizer. The design and construction of the developed nebulizer device is presented and its performance parameters are reported.
